The love and the hobby of reading have diminished to some extent with the advent of technologies like Tv and web. Persons like to spend time watching Television, surfing the internet, or playing games on computers or play stations. "A Room with a View" is written by E. M. Forster, which was published in the year 1908. The story is about a young woman surviving in the Edwardian England. The story is about enjoy, romance and the life of a young girl in the repressed culture of England throughout that period. It is a lovely depiction of the English society at the beginning of the 20th century. This novel has also been adapted for a movie in the year 1985.
The story can be divided into two parts the 1st part is set in Italy and the second part in England. The leading character Lucy is in Florence, Italy on a tour with her cousin. The place where they were to stay was named as The Pension Bertolini. They were promised a room with the view there hence, the name of the novel is taken from there. Then again, they did not get any such room.
Lucy fell for an Englishman, George, staying at the similar hotel. On the other hand, she was not appreciated for it, and like all other stories, they accidentally kept on meeting and fell in love. However, they had been separated as she was forced to leave for Rome. There she was proposed twice by Cecil whom she knew from England, but she turned him down and went back to her family members home in Surrey, England.
Immediately after various series of dramatic episodes, in the end, as fate has it, Lucy and George have to life happily ever after, so they elope without having the consent of her mother. This novel is one of the top novels of the writer, which has been adapted for theatre, film, radio and tv.
